A Coffin for Dimitrios by Eric Ambler. Mildred Pierce by James M. Cain. The Real Cool Killers by Chester Himes. Black Friday by David Goodis. The Wrong Case by James Crumley. Four straight classics and the Crumley is not bad either. The Ambler is one of the best crime novels I have ever read.
