One of the weirder buddy cop movies ever made, with a very strange production backstory. There were actually several directors involved and lots of creative differences. Jack Palance, Michael J. Escape from New York (1981)

I got the old DVD player to play through the new TV with the surround sound speakers. Nothing else will. The direct connection between new TV and old Sony receiver won't happen. I've tried it every which way and it should be simple with L/R speaker wires going from the TV to the Sony. Does nothing. I got speaker feedback one time connecting it one way and that was it. Playing the Escape from New York DVD now on the Blu-ray player just to see how it looks.

Kurt Russell on Harry O

 

Harry O recently showed up on Youtube. Good detective show. David Janssen. Not a rare show on the internet, because I watched three episodes a couple of summers ago, and one of them the Kurt Russell ep. Some shows come and go a lot over the years. Playing that one now on Youtube. Same channel has a number of other excellent 70s cop/detective series. Too many, in fact, and I suspect it will soon be deleted. Ep. is "Double Jeopardy." #19 of season one. First aired February 13, 1975.
