Sandwich of the Day: Chicken Shawarma with Hummus on Pita 2026

Serop's Express chicken plate comes with a salad, hummus, and rice pilaf. I get an extra pita for stuffed sandwiches. Baton Rouge has very good Greek/Lebanese food.

Sandwich of the Day: Chicken Shawarma with Hummus on Pita

My favorite thing. Serop's Express chicken plate comes with rice, hummus, pita, and a salad. And that yogurt/cucumber sauce. I stuff everything in the pita.

New Alex Box Stadium

When they opened the new LSU baseball stadium a photographer I knew was hired to fly over and take some pics. I went along for the ride and was terrified every second.

General Price and the Pepper Bench

Put all the peppers on benches after bringing them in for a late freeze and then had to add a bench for General Price, a long one, to keep him off the peppers.

Lazy Pie

From the Kitchens of Westminster cookbook. My neighborhood and elementary school in the 70s. I am terrible at baking so even this simple item could be trouble. My father makes this all the time is how I got on to the recipe. I am using half of everything for this size dish and one 15 oz. can of peaches, with liquid. So half would be: half cup butter, half cup sugar, half cup flour, half tablespoon baking powder, quarter cup milk. Cook at 350 for 35 minutes. I am using the toaster oven. (edit) I think I put too much milk when I was cutting everything else in half.
