The Hound of the Baskervilles

1972 ABC Movie of the Week TV movie. Continuing my quest to see all of the Baskerville adaptations. This has a poor reputation but does have William Shatner. Stewart Granger as Sherlock Holmes. Bernard Fox as Watson. Found on Youtube. Intended as a pilot for a rotating series of classic detective TV movies. The poor reception of this one killed that idea.

The Hound of the Baskervilles

Canadian TV movie from 2000 with Matt Frewer and Kenneth Welsh, who just died the other day. Found on Youtube. I have watched a couple of other Baskerville adaptations here and I listened to the CBS Radio Mystery Theater version with Kevin McCarthy from 1977 a few nights ago. I got mad because the radio host described Dr. Watson as "bumbling." Hardly. This version of the story is not well liked because of Matt Frewer's performance. It looks really nice, I can say ten minutes in. They ended up making four Sherlock Holmes adaptations with Frewer and Welsh.

The Hound of the Baskervilles (1978)

I just found this on someone's old VHS tape on Internet Archive. Right behind an episode of Mike Hammer. Sherlock Holmes parody. Peter Cook. Dudley Moore. It is supposed to be terrible. I usually like the Holmes comedies.
