Directed by Sam Fuller. Criterion DVD film noir coming up next. One of my favorite movies. Lightning Louie and his noodles. Remington Steele did a nice takeoff on the Thelma Ritter character fingering the pickpocket by his style with Meeno Peluce playing the young cannon (A Pocketful of Steele.) Richard Widmark in the movie. Thelma Ritter's performance here is one of the finest in film history.
