https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0707590/

1997 ABC. "Necessity is the Mother of Infection." This Program Contains Scenes of Martial Arts Action is the disclaimer at the beginning of each episode. Created by Sam Raimi. Allison Smith. Linden Ashby. Bruce McCarty. Titus Welliver is a guest star in this one. I taped these on VHS when it aired. Linden Ashby is retired spy Lorne Cash, who is brought back into the spy game after the collapse of the Soviet Union has flooded the market with freelance spies. Allison Smith is Max London, who is fond of gadgets and kicking butt. They work for a small government agency tasked with policing all of these now rogue agents.

In this unaired episode a deadly virus called Q is stolen from a research institute and released in a small town. The agents have twelve hours to find the antidote. Titus Welliver is Sebastian Dane. Michael Paul Chan is Mr. Eng. Louisiana native Wayne Pere is Bob. Ron Perkins is Dr. John Russell. And the great, gruff character actor Troy Evans, who often plays cops, is Sheriff Porter. (Mr. Evans has 166 credits listed on IMDb, so you would know him if you saw him.) Head of the institute Titus Welliver is actually happy that the virus has been released because it allows them to test it out on the small town residents. The virus thief, Hank Stratton as Jefferson Wayne, turns out to be Max's ex-husband, and now a radical activist. Various other international bad guys show up in town to witness how the virus works.

I was a fan of this show from the beginning when it aired. One of the few. It was made just for me. Action, comedy, gadgets, spies, kung fu. This show has everything. All of the episodes are on Youtube, including the unaired ones, and pretty good quality. This is another show that I will go back and watch on occasion when I am in the mood for some martial arts action.
