Experimenting. I had four cans of Covid Great Northern beans with a best by date of this summer. My usual spicy bean soup is with black beans, pinto beans, red beans. I did not put chipotle peppers in this version so not quite as spicy. One can diced tomato. One can Rotel tomato. One big onion, one big celery stalk, two cloves garlic. One heaping teaspoon cumin, one heaping teaspoon chili powder. Cayenne, bay leaf, black pepper, Greek seasoning, splash of green hot sauce. And chicken broth. Simmer for about an hour to an hour and a half. Will update the finish.
Had not looked at the Kinja archive in a while but I had a very similar vintage ice cream post there. I had already bookmarked these new images but when I looked at the old post the picks are almost exactly the same. My tastes haven't changed. Lots of nice color slides of signs (Eddie Murphy voice) "Ice Cream!"
